Aalto was founded in 1998 by Mariano Garcia (from Bodegas Mauro and former oenologist from Vega Sicilia) together with Javier Zaccagnini (Bodegas Ossian). It was launched in February 1999, with the financial support of several investors enthusiastic about quality wine. Mariano García is the oenologist and Antonio Moral is the head of viticulture.
