The Alentejo is an area of wine production in Portugal officially divided into five denominations of origin, of Portalegre, Borba, Redondo, Reguengos and Vidigueira, generating all of them, VQPRD wines. The statutes of these five regions stipulate that wines entitled to use the DOC must present strains fixed in at least 80%.
Alentejo minimum common upbringings are 12 months before the passage of the wines to bottles.
