TASTING NOTE:
- View: Straw yellow, greenish reflections.
- Nose: floral, herbaceous, lily and mint notes.
- Mouth: pleasant and lively palate, citrus and mineral notes, but also round and balanced thanks to the juiciness of the fruit aromas.
CURIOSITIES:
Soil: Various types of soil are found here: limestone (caillottes) on the east and west sides of the vineyard, Kimmerdigina limestone with oyster remains (marne à huitre) and argillaceous limestone and siliceous clay.
Climate: Temperate with a continental tendency. Average rainfall of 600-780 mm per year.
The smoky aroma of the "flint" of the Pouilly Fumé is its distinctive mark, especially notable in wines grown on limestone soils. Unlike Sancerre, its neighbor on the left bank of the Loire, the Pouilly Fumé area is dedicated exclusively to the production of white wine from the Sauvignon Blanc and Chasselas varieties.
