Clos de Lunes Lune d' Argent is a dry, fresh and mineral white wine. It is made from Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes. These vines are planted on deep gravelly, clay-limestone and red earth soils of Barsac which are worked organically to maintain the natural balance of the terroir.
TASTING NOTES:
Apperance: Straw-coloured with greenish hues.
Nose: Aromas of exotic fruits and citrus mixed with floral sensations of lime and acacia.
Palate: The palate is full, silky and smooth. With good tension, crisp acidity and a pure mineral salinity.
DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN: Bordeaux AOC.
WINEMAKING: Made with Semillon and Sauvignon blanc varieties.
AGEING: Aged for 6 months, ¼ in French oak barrels and ¾ in stainless steel tanks.
CURIOSITIES: The grandson and son of brandy merchants, Olivier Bernard started in the world of wine at a very young age. At the age of 18 he opened his first retail wine shop and in 1983 his father and brothers bought Domaine de Chevalier, in Graves (Bordeaux) and offered him the chance to manage the estate. Under the management of Claude Ricard, former owner of Chevalier and great winegrower, he started his adventure as a winemaker and today he is involved in several projects at the same time. One of them, Clos de Lunes, involves the production of a great dry white wine on a terroir shared with the best of the great vineyards of Sauternes.
