Tasting Note:

• Color: Very intense cherry.
• Nose: Aroma of medium intensity, hints of jam and toast.
• Mouth: Powerful, meaty, full, very ripe and persistent tannins, very well blended fruit and wood.

Production and Aging:

Made with grapes harvested from vineyards over 30 years old planted on the farm from which it receives its name (Las Gravas). A 22-hectare vineyard that is characterized by its pebble and stone soils and its continental climate softened by the Mediterranean influence. After the harvest, the fruits are not destemmed and neither are they squeezed. Each grape variety ferments independently in underground presses at a controlled temperature of around 29ºC. The resulting wine aged for 18 months in foudres Oak until the moment of its assembly and bottling (without any filtering).

Curiosities

Casa Castillo is located in the Jumilla highlands . Their lands occupy the shady area of ​​the Sierra del Molar, rising on steep slopes up to 760 meters above sea level. The farm has an area of ​​402 hectares, of which only 150 are dedicated to vineyards, the rest is used for growing almond and olive trees and for the conservation of mountains and pine forests. The native variety Monastrell occupies 80% of the vineyard, followed by 12% Garnacha and 8% Syrah.
