CATA'S NOTES
- Nose: Intense aromas of citrus tropical fruits mixed with notes of boxwood and fennel.
- Mouth: Smooth attack, with a long and unctuous mid palate. Fresh finish thanks to the acidity that culminates in a mild bitterness characteristic of the Verdejo variety.
ELABORATION
- The fermentation of the must is carried out in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures.
CURIOSITIES
Monopole has been made by CVNE, in Haro, since the beginning of the 20th century.
The brand was registered in 1915, being the oldest trademark registration for a white wine from Spain. Since then, it has been a reference in homes and hotels, and one of the main CVNE wines.
Monopole is made from the Viura grape variety and its name comes from French and means that the wine comes from a specific vineyard, a clarification that was created in the time of Napoleon.
In 2014, the style of before, which had achieved the recognition of this great white, was rescued. To recover it, CVNE brought back to the winery its historic winemaker Ezequiel García, who has been in charge of making the winery's wines for more than three decades. Nicknamed “El Brujo”, he once again worked magic with the reissue of this Monopole from the 60s, which they called the Classic Monopole.
