• Color: intense layer of garnet color.
• Nose: Notes of ripe red and black fruit (cherries, cherries, plums) combined with balsamic and spicy aromas (licorice) and those coming from sweet wood.
• Mouth: Powerful, fruity, creamy and long on the palate. Full-bodied, where some very pleasant tannins of marked personality stand out, which enhance its long finish, its persistence. A tasty wine, a safe bet.

Elaboration And Aging:

Produced from the selection of the best grapes from each of its estates, it combines the richness of Tempranillo, the intensity of Syrah and the elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as some Merlot and Petit Verdot. The upbringing was 13 months in French and American oak barrels .

Abadía Retuerta Selección Especial de 2001 was awarded at the International Wine Challenge in London as the best red in the world in 2005.

This is the wine that best reflects the particularity of the terroir of this winery, the spirituality of the 12th century abbey of this estate and the essence of the well-known Spanish wine Golden Mile where the most prestigious wine brands linked to the the banks of the Duero river.
