TASTING NOTES
- Appearance: Straw yellow.
- Nose: Fresh with aromas of exotic fruits.
- Palate: Mature and mellow, long, intense and complex finish.
ELABORATION
Variety 100% Viura.
Grapes from vineyards located in Haro, Villalba and Ollauri, with clayey-calcareous soils.
Manual harvest in boxes 20 Kg.
Selection of the best bunches.
Cold maceration at 10 ºC and subsequent fermentation in stainless steel.
A small portion of its own skins is added to the must.
Finally, the wine rests for a few months in bocoyes of 300 liters of French oak of medium toasted and fine grain.
CURIOSITIES
This winery moved in 1902 to Calle La Ventilla 71, where wines were made for 107 years. A centennial winery that would be engulfed by the growth of the city of Haro, which is why it was decided to build a winery outside the city walls. A modern building that, however, oozes history from all its pores.
In addition, this variety of Tempranillo is part of a genetic mutation found in 1988 in a shoot of a vineyard of Murillo de Rio Leza, following the discovery in La Rioja, surprising white tempranillos are made.
