TASTING NOTES
- Appearance: Intense and bright garnet red color.
- Nose: Intense, with notes of ripe fruit, spices, sweet licorice, nutmeg, coffee, vanilla and cinnamon.
- Palate: Very expressive and complex, full of flavors and a pleasant acidity.
ELABORATION
Made with Tempranillo and Grenache.
Manual harvest.
Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation.
The selected wines were introduced into barrels to start their aging separately.
The Tempranillo ages for 36 months with 8 manual racking, in American oak barrels.
The Grenache ages for 30 months with 6 manual racking.
CURIOSITIES
This winery moved in 1902 to Calle La Ventilla 71, where wines were made for 107 years. A centennial winery that would be engulfed by the growth of the city of Haro, which is why it was decided to build a winery outside the city walls. A modern building that, however, oozes history from all its pores.
In addition, this variety of Tempranillo is part of a genetic mutation found in 1988 in a shoot of a vineyard of Murillo de Rio Leza, following the discovery in La Rioja, surprising white tempranillos are made.
