CATA's notes:
- Clean and bright, from color dark cherry and tall layer.
- In nose It reminds of black fruit.
- Nice on mouth with notes of red fruit and coffee. Very nice post-taste with final compote and licorice.
Elaboration and aging:
Elaborated at 100% Bull ink from a selection of the most special areas with low yields from the Vetus farm that surrounds the winery. Manual selection on the table. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with temperature control and double pissage. The aging is 12 months in new French oak barrels.
Curiosities: In 2003, the Anton family, headed by Artevino (
Izadi Y
Orben in
Rioja Y
Finca Villacreces in
Ribera del Duero ), goes into Toro, knowing the future and power of the denomination. After selecting different plots of the area, the first Vetus is elaborated, a wine designed to maintain Toro's own essence, exploring new nuances, new concepts. The good results obtained drive the location of a farm in the heart of the denomination where it begins to build a modern winery that will be inaugurated in 2008.
