Bosque de Matasnos is a red wine that expresses all the essence of the Matasnos forest. The result of an exciting thought that arises in the highlands of the Ribera del Duero, in a unique place where it is produced in a 100% sustainable way, surrounded by the forest with a large amount of natural resources. It is a warm, fine and elegant wine.
TASTING NOTES:
Appearance: Intense and bright cherry red colour, with a very high robe.
Nose: Pleasant aroma and high intensity. Ripe red fruit with hints of black fruits. Fine spices of cinnamon, vanilla, caramel and toffee.
Palate: Smooth entry on the palate with an intense and tasty finish. Fine and pleasant with a blend of red fruit and fine spices.
DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN: Ribera del Duero.
WINEMAKING: Made mainly with Tempranillo, and to a lesser extent with Merlot and Malbec.
AGEING: Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
CURIOSITIES: The harvest was characterised by an extreme drought preceded by what was perhaps the biggest freeze in the history of the D.O. The ripening was extreme and the characteristics of this wine are typical of the vintage.
