Domaine Tournon Mathilda Blanc is a white wine of Australian maturity with French savoir-faire. For its production, the grapes are harvested at the right point of ripeness, avoiding over-ripening. After destemming, the bunches are fermented in steel and cement tanks, while macerating for two to three weeks to ensure a good extraction of tannins.
TASTING NOTES:
Apperance: Pale golden colour.
Nose: Aromas of a wide variety of fruits and freshness.
Mouth: In the mouth it is smooth and fresh, with a lot of minerality and fruit flavour.
DENOMINATION OF ORIGIN: Pyrenees (Victoria, Australia).
WINEMAKING: Made with Viognier and Marsanne varieties.
AGEING: Aged for 5 months in stainless steel tanks.
CURIOSITIES: This wine originated in 1997 when Michel Chapoutier's pioneering spirit led him to explore the lands of the ancient continent of Australia, increasingly renowned for the high quality of its Shiraz grapes. There he found an exceptional terroir, in the Victorian Pyrenees, where he established his Domaine Tournon, with two vineyards: the Shays Flat Estate and the Landsborough Valley Estate.
