Tasting Notes:
Color: Ripe cherry red with bluish reflections.
Nose: powerful, with fruity aromas, touches of anise and fine woods.
Palate: smooth with sweet tannins, balanced and persistent.
Elaboration and Aging:
Alma de Acos was born from the need to maintain the high quality of ACOS, the parent wine. The wine comes from the youngest Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) vines of the Acos hill vineyards, the product of a careful selection of their barrels in La Horra, Burgos, in the heart of Ribera del Duero. Although it is a second wine, its quality is far superior to many crianzas and the bottles can be kept for some years, thus improving its smoothness and texture.
It is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels.
Curiosities:
Bodegas Hermanos Sastre, S.L. was founded in 1992. That was the moment when the Sastre family decided to found a small winery where they could make wine from their first 23 hectares of vineyard. Since then, they have maintained a traditional way of growing and producing wine with the utmost respect for the land, with which they seek to produce wines of unique quality and character. A character born from the land of the Horra and its old vineyards, which offers the taste and pleasure found in each vintage: richness, density, sweetness, elegance, race, purity and freshness.
