At 400 metres above sea level, at Mas Escorpí, there is a 23-year-old vineyard of Pinot Noir vines. Stony, fresh land with more than 40% active lime, which makes it ideal for wines of great ageing. On three levels with double cordon Royat, three different types of feet are used due to the great diversity of the terrain.
Tasting notes:
Appearance: Medium intense garnet tone with raspberry tints.
Nose: Intense and concentrated. Wild fruit in season (blackberries and redcurrants). A floral nuance (violets) blends with the aromatic notes of the wine's ageing: vanilla, pepper, tobacco leaves and hints of chocolate.
On the palate: Strong attack, medium body, pronounced tannin. Retronasal aromas of dark fruit, spices and a touch of tapenade, complemented by a long, lively acidity on the finish.
Pairing:
Red meat, feathered game, stews.
