Régnard Mâcon is a single varietal Gamay red wine made by Maison Régnard. It is a wine that stands out for being soft, floral and fresh thanks to its correct acidity, with the wood discreetly peeking out from the background. Gamay perfumed, perto demure, it is a version of the varietal on limestone soils, a wine halfway between the northern Burgundies and the gamay of Beaujolais.

TASTING NOTES:

Sight: Light ruby colour with violet reflections, clean and bright.

Nose: Primary aromas of small ripe red fruits, enhanced by a floral aroma.

Palate: In the mouth it is full, smooth and fruity, with a deliciously fresh finish.

DESIGNATION OF ORIGIN: Mâconnais.

WINEMAKING: Made from 100% Gamay grapes.

AGEING: Aged for 18 to 20 months in French oak barrels.

CURIOSITIES: Maison Régnard is one of the oldest wineries in Burgundy. It was founded in 1860, but in 1984 the Domaine was taken over by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette who continued to perpetuate and improve the style and typicity of its wines.

The grapes of the Régnard Macôn Rouge come from Mâconnais, in the south of Burgundy. They come from vineyards 400 metres above sea level on calcareous, clayey and siliceous soils. Although the winery is located in Burgundy, it does not elaborate with the usual Beaujolais semi-carbonic maceration, but works according to the house principles: destemming and crushing the grapes to be vinified and not over-ripening the wine in order to let the grapes express themselves naturally.
