Tasting Note:
- View: bright cherry and deep layer.
- Nose : aromas of black fruit, Mediterranean scrub, rockrose and broom. Pepper, eucalyptus and graphite, pencil tip.
- Mouth: round, opulent, complex and horizontal, with a long aftertaste.
Elaboration and Aging:
Manual night harvest in boxes. 24 hour cold room. Selection table. Destemmed. Incubation without squeezing. Selected yeasts. Daily manual pumping over during fermentation. I discovered in cold. Malolactica in oak. 15 months in 2nd use French oak barrels. Without transfer.
Vineyard:
Glass and dry land. Clayey sandy soil with calcareous boluses in its superficial layers and limestone in the subsoil, very stony and difficult to work, on an eastern slope that protects it from the harshest hours of the sun. The Tinta Roriz variety is the Portuguese equivalent of Tempranillo and was planted about 40 years ago on our farm by wine growers in the area. Possibly, this wine represents the best expression of this variety in Extremadura, and together with our Garnacha Tintorera, they offer the maximum reflection of a vineyard and a place.
