L'Ermita is one of those wines that crosses the barrier of what a wine is, to become an object of desire, an exclusive work, venerated and desired by many and achieved by very few.
L'Ermita is the great masterpiece of Álvaro Palacios in the Priorat. An excellent red wine made from garnacha with a low percentage of cariñena and 2% of white grape varieties.
The grapes used for its production come from a small plot of just over 2 hectares with slate soils and very old vines, between 75 and 100 years old, located in the village of Gratallops. The low productivity is carefully selected. The grapes chosen are destemmed and delicately crushed. The varieties are vinified separately. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in small wooden vats, making movements for the extraction of all the possible colour and fruit.
The malolactic fermentation and subsequent ageing takes place in new French oak barrels for a period of 18 months.
L'Ermita is one of the most renowned wines in Spain. A masterpiece. A round, spectacular wine. With all the character and personality of the Priorat.
