- Color: Pale gold slightly evolved.
- Nose: Fresh and aromatic. Complex and developed. Bouquet with third generation aromas.
- Mouth: It is dry with an extraordinary acidity that will allow it to continue evolving over time. Fruity, complex, evolved, very fine.
Production and Aging:
Its appearance and color demonstrate the extraordinary work of this winery, true masters in the art of aging wine. After four years of aging in American oak barrels and a long maturation in the bottle, until today we still see a precious gold color without evolving.
Made with 100% Viura grapes from 24 hectares of 45-year-old vineyards located 200 meters in a straight line from the winery building, next to the Ebro River, at an altitude between 444 and 472 meters.
Harvested manually, bunch by bunch, which is transported to the winery in compartas (cone-shaped poplar wood containers). Once in the winery, the must ferments without stems or skins in large 60-hectoliter oak vats. Then it is aged for 4 years in oak barrels. With 2 rackings per year.
"Selection and love. Two words that became the Bible for their wines, a maxim that R. López from Heredia Viña Tondonia has been and is preaching for more than a century. More than a hundred years in which, through four generations and despite the continuous and tempting offers from multinationals, companies that absorb all kinds of businesses, R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia continues to be a single-family winery in which the four generations that have run it have continued the philosophy and labor and social maxims implemented by its founder more than 146 years ago".
