Gota de Arena is a red wine made with Tempranillo grapes from vineyards planted in sandy soils, harvested by hand and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. It is a young wine with the particularity that 10% of its production spends 12 months in French and American oak. The ripe fruit, spices and nuts, aromas with remarkable complexity, are enhanced by the contribution of the part aged in wood, so that the toasted and roasted notes are evident from the first sip.
TASTING NOTES:
Sight: Intense purple colour.
Nose: Aromas of ripe red fruit and delicate spicy notes.
Mouth: Powerful in the mouth, with a long finish and notes of dark chocolate.
APPELLATION OF ORIGIN: IGP Castilla y León.
WINEMAKING: Made from 100% Tempranillo grapes.
AGEING: Aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
CURIOSITIES: The winery was designed to make small productions of red grapes, mainly from the old Tempranillo vineyards, some of them planted in 1890, but also from Prieto Picudo de León and Mencía del Bierzo. Tridente's old vines are spread over more than 40 different plots of its own vineyards (90 hectares). In some cases, the vines date back to 1910.
