RICH COLLECTION In the history of Champagne, wines that were blended to obtain a greater sweetness were generally described as "rich". In fact, the 1840s bottles of Veuve Clicquot recently found in the Aland Islands have more than 150 grams of sugar per litre. In Russia, consumers have traditionally added sugar to their champagne to give their wines a personal touch. The Rich blend is made up of 45% Pinot Noir, which is the column that supports the Veuve Clicquot wines and gives the champagne its fundamental structure. A large proportion of Meunier (40%) adds roundness to the blend and the Chardonnay (15%) completes it with a touch of freshness. The Rich Rosé completes the blend with 15% red Pinot Noir. The special feature of Rich is its 60 g/l dosage, which enhances the aromas of the blend. As the master winemaker of Veuve Clicquot shares: "The sugar in champagne is like the spices in a recipe: if used correctly, it can highlight specific aromas and play with the flavours. TASTING NOTE View: pale gold. Nose: fresh fruit notes, gourmet citrus, floral finish. Palate: citrus and floral, balanced by the dynamic freshness and creamy finish.
