Almendralejo, capital of Tierra de Barros, stands out in the world of wine for being one of the International Wine Cities, a name it received in 1983, as could not be otherwise, for the rooting of the culture of wine and vineyard in its region and therefore in its population.
The city of Almendralejo is, with some 35,000 inhabitants, the fourth city per population of the province of Badajoz.
Located 25 km from Merida and 50 km from Badajoz and Portugal, has always been known for being a great crossroads between roads from north to south in Spain and Portugal to the rest of the country, framed in the Via de la Plata, ancient Roman road, and current Xacobea Route.
It produces Cavas from the Macebeo and Parellada grapes that give it yellow-greenish tones. With bubbles that rise continuously like a rosary.
